09:00 The People-side of innovation: every organization’s starting point
Virtually every organization wants to become more innovative. Many invest heavily in R&D and technology innovation, in product innovation and service innovation. But few companies have truly tried to develop the people-side of innovation.
Few executives have learned the tools. Few HR departments have developed a deep understanding of innovation. Few managers have tried to recruit and develop more innovative people. Instead, many look to Amazon, Apple, Google and GE, and claim they are “simply more innovative companies”. But reality is, every single company can learn how to recruit, train and develop more innovative leaders, more innovate teams and more innovative organizations. It requires new leadership skills. It requires an understanding of how engagement drives innovation. It requires courage.
Innovation is a new management science, but future-oriented leaders can learn these skills today. And the people-side of innovation is every organization’s starting point.

10:00 A holistic model for understanding innovation
People, culture and processes; these are the three enablers of Strategic Innovation. These three enablers are the building blocks of any successful strategic innovation effort. Problem is, most companies don’t have the tools, metrics or theories to balance these three. Instead, luck and random chance decides if your company has the foundation for successful innovation. Now, for the first time, you can learn how your company can create a holistic understanding of innovation.
